This guide will walk you through the process of requesting a Direct address, which is a secure, encrypted, and HIPAA-compliant electronic endpoint used to safely exchange medical records and patient data.

Request a Direct address

1. Fill out the form Direct Messaging Application and send to "support (at) opencoremr (dot) com".
2. OpenCoreEMR will submit the application to EMR Direct.
3. After EMR Direct processes the form, they will send an online identity verification link to the representative at the email address provided in the form.
4. The representative will need to complete the identity verification link with the provided link. The link will be good for 7 days.
   1. Alternative: If the representative does not want to do link verification link, then they will need to mail notarized Identity Verification for Applicaiton Signer and mail to EMR Direct to the address listed in the form.
5. Once the identity verification has been comleted, EMR Direct will issue a Direct address.
