OpenCoreEMR Announces Private Test Repos for OpenEMR Community
OpenCoreEMR is launching a major initiative to provide the OpenEMR community with private test repositories and dedicated GitHub Actions resources. This move dramatically accelerates project velocity and secures a more robust platform.
As major contributors who offer OpenEMR as a free managed service, we are leveraging our corporate GitHub enterprise resources for this dedicated investment in the community.
Accelerating Velocity with Private Infrastructure
This new program will provide community contributors with private test repositories and access to dedicated Github Actions compute minutes and additional infrastructure resources.
This investment enables expanded integration and end-to-end (E2E) testing coverage on critical modules, allowing for the responsible and private testing of changes before they enter the public release track. We are dedicating thousands of additional compute hours to this infrastructure to ensure stability.
Fostering Secure Community Collaboration
We are launching this pivotal effort to deliver a more robust and accelerated OpenEMR platform, leading to a rigorous and reliable release cadence that the community can depend on. The ability to privately test changes ensures a secure and stable evolution of OpenEMR while fostering deeper collaboration.
To actively engage the broader community of external developers and security researchers, details on how contributors can submit a request for a private test repository will be made available soon on our GitHub resources page.
