Superbill

A superbill is a detailed, itemized invoice that healthcare providers give to patients so the patients can seek reimbursement from their insurance company for out-of-network services. It acts as the primary data source the insurance company uses to evaluate the claim and determine how much, if anything, to pay the patient back.

How to Generate a superbill

1. Navigate to a patient encounter.
2. In the top toolbar menu, Popups > Superbill.
3. A print view form will show up with limited encounter information like the service provider and reason for visit.
4. Click “Print” and manually fill out the rest of the form.
5. To generate a blank superbill to fill out, go to Miscellaneous > Blank Forms > Superbill/Fee Sheet.
6. Click on “Print” at the bottom of the page to print out a blank superbill form.
